Athel Technology Limited is a company of people with different technical experience, from software engineer, electrical engineer, and marketing and welders. Initially our main objective was to create awareness in communities across counties on the effects of using firewood and charcoal by giving the community an alternative cooking fuel known as the briquettes.
Through this initiative we were acknowledged by the Kwale county government, which brought us to win a grant from the World Bank for our work. As we continued interacting with different communities in Kenya, we saw an opportunity of developing a unique technology which can be used by both low income communities to real estate house owners. The Ecompishi has been well-received by both county officials to communities and even different organizations such as the Kenya forest services, Kenya climate innovation center, and Kenya youth empowerment initiative. We are confident enough that these year we will be able to reach different media and be able to spread the word on the new solar cooker technology.
