This article is about an entity that either no longer exists or that may no longer be active in solar cooking promotion. It is retained here for archival purposes.

I have done extensive work on the use and disuse of solar cookers. Much of what I have learned has been added to the Non-cooking uses article. The work was carried out as a Ph.D. study at the Technical University of Denmark. I did my empirical work in 1997 and 1999 in Madras City but mainly in Gujarat State in India, where I visited, met, interviewed and discussed solar cooking, with about 40 urban and rural families who had a solar box cooker at their homes. Many of them did not use their solar cookers, however a small portion of them used it with enthusiasm and benefited lots of economic and other advantages. The author has discussed the problems of solar cooking technology elsewhere among others in an article: An Analysis of Solar Cooker Usage - Bashir Ahmad

Recent News and developmentsEdit

  • November 2014: Bashir Ahmad Nawa, Ph.D. and Master in Technology Planning. I worked from 2001-2007 at the Danish Patent Office as patent examiner, and from 2007 on is teaching physics. Currently lecturer in physics at Soroe Academi High School since 2010. Different aspects of solar energy including solar heating and solar electricity are brought into the classroom teachings.
  • 1996-2000: Bashir Ahmad, a Research Fellow at the Technical University of Denmark, provides an analysis of solar cooker usage compared to conventional cooking methods. Data was collected for the study in India and Burkina Faso in the 80's and 90's. An Analysis of Solar Cooker Usage - Bashir Ahmad
