The Brahma Kumaris Global Peace House is located in Khoyratty on the island nation of Mauritius, off the east coast of Madagascar. Vikram Dookna is the project coordinator at the center, and has undertaken an introductory program of solar cooking to prepare vegetarian meals, and help others learn about its clean cooking benefits. Their solar box oven is situated in their organic garden, where vegetables are grown for meals at the center. They also use an evacuated tube solar cooker to supplement their solar cooking.

Vikam visited India to initially learn about solar cooking. He then conceived of a plan to apply it on a smaller scale in Mauritius. They built their own version of a solar box oven in 2016, and it has had continual use for over six years.
