CONSOLFOOD began holding internationally attended conferences at the Universidade do Algarve in Faro, Portugal in 2016. The Organizing Committee, has been under the Chairmanship of Prof. Celestino Ruivo. The group typically receives over 60 submissions for presentation at the conferences, focussing on advances in solar cooking, solar food processing, and other related topics.

- August 2024: Update CONSOLFOOD2025, 5-7 May 2025, Marseille, France - CONSOLFOOD 2025 is being planned for Marseille (Aix Marseille Univeristy and Le Présage solar restaurant, France). An exhibition of solar cookers will be available for viewing during the conference days. Our lunches will be planned to be produced with the help of our friend, the sun, at the solar restaurant. The whole CONSOLFOOD2025 conference program will be delivered in hybrid format, so those who register, but are not present at conference place in Marseille, will be able to participate online. - February 2023: Update CONSOLFOOD2023 The Fifth International Conference, CONSOLFOOD 2023, will be held 12-14 July 2023 in Galicia, A Coruña, Spain. Top experts from all over the world have submitted presentations to discuss topics related to advances in solar food processing and solar cooking. - October 2022: Webinar 22 Saturday, October 2022 (15:45 - 18:00 UTC, 6:45 am - 9:0am PDT) Solar Cooking: a great solar passion of two Argentine ladies. Professor Celestino Ruivo announced this webinar will be presented by Mirta and Virginia from Argentina, speaking about their experiences using a number of various solar cookers. The lecture will be in Spanish with English subtitles. Participants can speak in Portuguese, Spanish, or English for questions. - July 2022: Update CONSOLFOOD2023 - We are pleased to announce that the Fifth International Conference CONSOLFOOD - Advances in Solar Thermal Food Processing CONSOLFOOD2023 is being planned for the 12th, 13th and 14th of July, 2023 in Galicia, A Coruña, Spain. The previous face to face CONSOLFOOD events were organized in Faro-Portugal in winter time in January 2016, 2018 and 2020. This time we are organizing it for summer time in Galicia (CIFP SOMESO, A Coruña, Spain), i.e., in the home town of our great solar cooking friend Juan Bello Llorente. We expect to attract, once again, top experts from all over the world to present and discuss topics related to advances in solar food processing and solar cooking. The whole conference program will be delivered in hybrid format, so those who register, but are not present at CIFP Someso, will be able to participate online. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 15th December 2022. Your abstracts should be sent via email to cruivo@ualg.pt in .doc, .docx, or pdf format. You should limit your abstract to 400 words, and follow these guidelines: https://eric.ed.gov/?abstract. All abstracts will be reviewed and assessed by members of the scientific committee. The organizing committee will inform each author whether their submitted abstract has been accepted. The organizing committee encourages all authors to write an optional full length paper for inclusion in our conference proceedings. Successful authors should pre-record their presentations, using Powerpoint, or similar software. They will be invited to submit either a) a short presentation, of about 7 minutes duration, or b) a longer presentation, of about 25 minutes to cruivo@ualg.pt by 30th May 2023. The expected conference fee is 200 euros. Interested people facing financial difficulties should contact the organizing committee. Please help us to publicise CONSOLFOOD2023 as widely as possible by forwarding this message to anyone who might be interested. We will be delighted to welcome you to CONSOLFOOD2023, whether or not you have submitted an abstract. Please find attached a flyer with more information about the conference.
