- NEW: November 2025: Fornelia wins “Sustainable Innovative Technology 2025” award by AKTI - Based in Cyprus, Fornelia is redefining sustainable cooking with its high-efficiency solar ovens, powered by advanced parabolic concentrators. They received the award, which was presented during the Seed Funding Awards 2025, on 20 November 2025 at the Strovolos Cultural Centre in Nicosia. The event was organized within the framework of the Zero Waste HoReCa project, which is implemented by AKTI Project and Research Centre with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation, and aims to promote sustainable practices across Cyprus’s tourism industry.

- April 2019: Cyprus inventor and entrepreneur explains his solar cooker business - Savvas Hadjixenophontos, founder of Fornelia Ltd., built his first solar oven in 1983. He has continued to develop versions of various solar cookers, but is now focused on an evacuated tube style, which offers very efficient solar thermal cooking capabilities.
