Davide Milani

Davide Milani works as a carpenter in Castelfranco Veneto, Italy. He is passionate about modeling, engineering, historical reenactments, botany, design, basically anything new that catches his interest. These interests has led to volunteering in projects that address social issues.

In 2019 he met Matteo Muccioli and began a collaboration that led him to found the solar cooking center of Centro Cottura Solare CFV in June 2022. The center provides training and information about solar ovens and their use and construction. The center also offers on-going advice to all those who have participated in their courses according to their need.

He envisions future projects will include being able to network on a national level in Italy with other aspects related to solar cooking. Sharing a technology he believes can solve a number of environmental problems, and alleviate the difficulties for many affected families.

News[]

  • September 2024: The Castelfranco Veneto solar cooking center continues its activity, even if at a reduced pace, due to a lower presence of participants and a lack of volunteers. To date, 375 ovens have been built during the courses offered. Of this count, there have been no second or third ovens built by individual students.
  • June 2023: Castelfranco Veneto is a solar cooking center founded by Davide Milani in northern Italy. Members shared their recipes, and created this community-based solar cookbook in a pdf format, free for all to download and use. Conveniently, the cookbook is written in Italian with companion text in English. Have a look, and maybe pick up a little Italian along the way. Download a copy
