The Easy Solar Cooker is assembled as a wooden box, which unfolds to reveal internal reflectors that swing open. It can either be positioned upright for use when the sun is at a lower angle, or laid flat to orientate to a mostly overhead sun. When in the upright position the designer states that the cooker will need to be staked down in windy conditions.

The intent was to use simple construction materials and techniques. The box is made from 3/4" pine boards, and the reflectors from cardboard and aluminum foil. The cooking chamber is covered with plexiglass or window glazing.

Visit the Easy Solar Cooker page for construction information.
