Edye Kuyper

Edye Kuyper holds an MS in International Agricultural Development from UC Davis. She first discovered solar cooking while searching for ways to tie US-based nutrition education to issues of global hunger and energy conservation. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mauritania, and returned to West Africa as a Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer in Guinea following her solar cooking enlightenment where she promoted solar cooking and drying on a food processing assignment. Edye served on the Solar Cookers International Board of Directors from 2006-2009. She seeks to increase awareness of solar cooking in the U.S. and beyond by building the base of American solar cooks and providing information about SCI's life-saving work in resource-poor countries.
