The article below is about a solar cooking promoter who is now deceased. This information is maintained here as a tribute to the important work done by Esther Garvi.

Esther Garvi (right)

Esther Garvi passed away in a traffic accident in August of 2015. She worked as a volunteer for the Eden Foundation in Niger, West Africa. She was a frequent user of her solar oven. She has a special preference for translating 'famine foods' to Western eyes. Apart from solar cooking and her work, she enjoyed the Nigerian people and culture and adored riding barb mares in the Zinder bush.
