This article is about an entity that either no longer exists or that may no longer be active in solar cooking promotion. It is retained here for archival purposes.
The Förderverein für Solarkocher (Association for the Promotion of Solar Cookers) was founded in 1998 by Eduard Probst, who had built and developed box-type solar cookers since the late 1980s.
With the help of this ingenious yet simple technology, the Association encourages the use of inexhaustible solar energy by deploying solar cookers in sun-rich but economically poor regions of the earth.
By this means the organisation makes a contribution towards improving the lives of the suffering population, towards preserving forests threatened by deforestation, and towards reducing CO2 emissions.
