These are not my solar concentrators, and they are made by another Ukrainian, and now he will show their possibilities. These mirror strips reflect solar radiation towards the center of the concentrator, and therefore we can reach a high temperature there.

These are relatives of his concentrators, and usually this solar technology is called the term “Parabolic dish”, but we must make the mental effort to see the relationship. For example, it is important to draw your attention to the fact that his concentrator should periodically turn in two directions, and its small turns occur with a period of 5 or 10 minutes according to the movement of the sun across the sky.

Maybe you will come to the conclusion that his solar concentrators are less expensive, more convenient, and they better withstand strong winds compared to conventional Parabolic dishes.

This is his other concentrator, and these mirror strips reflect the solar radiation into this evacuated tube which produces heat for hot water supply. These two hoses are used to transfer heat from that evacuated tube to this tank with a volume of 500 liters of water.

This small solar concentrator can be used for hot water supply too, and this evacuated tube is a receiver of solar radiation from the mirror strips. These are two hoses for circulating heat transfer agent through the evacuated tube and through this heat exchanger where the agent transfers its heat to water.

We see that the equipment can be used to melt snow and turn it into water for cold or hot water supply, and now the ambient temperature is 11 degrees Celsius below zero.

This concentrator also heats the water, but the tank has a volume of 2000 liters of water, and the heat of the water is transferred to air for a large dryer of lumber which is manufactured by this wood processing plant.

Now he is showing his solar concentrator with this notch, and therefore the concentrator becomes more convenient for installing cookware and cooking.

Now his concentrator is used to generate steam. This is only a demonstration of possibilities, and it is obvious that it should not be a glass bulb, but an airtight dark metal container which allows us to increase the pressure and temperature of the steam.

Now his equipment produces hooch, like American bootleggers almost 100 years ago. Solar energy evaporates cheap alcoholic liquid inside this glass bulb, and then the vapor is cooled by this column, and this phenomenon leads to condensation of the vapor, and here we see an alcoholic drink. Obviously, this equipment can be used to evaporate polluted or sea water to turn it into drinking or distilled water.

Now we will see how the solar concentrator melts an aluminum can, and this is only a demonstration of the possibilities of solar energy for a very important environmental problem of the destruction and recycling of waste. I remind you that the melting point of aluminum is almost 700 degrees Celsius.

Now his solar concentrator will turn these wood chips into useful gas and charcoal. We see that the wood chips are installed in the center of the concentrator, where they will heat up to a temperature of several hundred degrees in the absence of air oxygen. This leads to a phenomenon that is commonly termed pyrolysis, and now we see gases and liquids which leave wood chips if they are strongly heated in the absence of oxygen. This gas becomes close to the traditional natural gas for our cookers and gas boilers if it passes through a similar primitive system for its purification and this water absorbs unnecessary impurities.

Now he is trying to set fire to the gas which will become fuel in the second half of the process, because at first heated wood usually produces water evaporation and non-flammable gases. This is his wood chips after the end of the process, and we see ordinary charcoal, similar to expensive coal for barbecue. If the process is done a little differently, then it can also produce this liquid which is close to traditional oil.

This is his solar dryer, and it heats the surrounding air which is moved by this fan through this glass tube with dark metallic mesh. Hot air escapes from this tube edge, and now we see that it moves toward this fruit dryer.
