The Fogão Parabólico was designed by Elmo Dutra. It is an unique parabolic solar cooker. The reflector is made from four recycled plastic panels, covered with reflective mylar. The panel framework creates the required curved shape.
It is a lightweight design, at 3.8Kg. With the reflector assembled, it measures 90 cm x 90 cm, with a light catchment area of .81 square meters. Dissassembled in the box the unit is 60 cm x 60 cm. Potentially, it can deliver thermal power of 700Watts.
