NEW: Guasave Solar is a trough style solar cooker named by inventor Orlando Valdez for the place of origin of its development in Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico. Orlando faced a number of hurdles developing this cooker, and even the prototype was damaged during Hurricane Norma. He applied for and received a patent in Mexico, and can be see at: Guasave Solar Patent
The main goal for the Guasave Solar Oven is for it to be used and adapted by communities around the world, especially in areas with limited access to energy. Orlando would like to encourage collaboration, exchange of experiences, and further testing and improvements to optimize its use and reach. I hope it can contribute to improving people’s quality of life and to the protection of the environment. Contact Orlando if interested.
