Kounoungou Refugee Camp is located in Chad and serves Darfuri refugees. In 2008, the UN Refugee Agency helped 1,300 Sudanese civilians move to the camp, a number which has grown considerably in subsequent years.
News and recent developments[]
- June 2017: Derk Rijks, a longtime participant in solar cooking projects in refugee camps, reports that there is an ongoing solar cooking project in this camp.
- September 2014: Jewish World Watch has expanded their support of refuges camps in Chad to included Kounoungou. They plan to build an additional manufacturing plant to support both Kounoungou and the Mile Refugee Camp. More info...
