Pedro Serrano is the Latin America and Iberia representative of the Solar Cookers International Association and has led for many years the Red Iberoamericana de Cosinas Solares (RECOSOL), which in the past produced a regional newsletter. Prof. Serrano has used solar cookers since 1985, has been teaching others since 1989 and last year taught 200 people. He has sold 300 cookers, and also empowered 300 people in Portugal and Uruguay. He has presented papers at many international meetings and was involved in the successful solar cooker project in Villaseca, Chile, which became a tourist attraction. He is also involved with El Canelo de Nos.
