  • June 2023: Women's conference - Priscilla Song attends the Dare to Lead conference on women's leadership: Ange Afumbom, junior deputy and young leader of the environmental cause and her comrade crystallized the attention of an assembly of influential women during a conference on women's leadership held in one of the cozy rooms of the Yaoundé city hall on June 17, 2023. "Dare to lead" is the title of this meeting initiated by Grace Njie and her group called ImpactHer By Grace Ministries. It was an opportunity for women from here and elsewhere to motivate their peers and raise their awareness through advice, tips and success stories. Seizing the opportunity of this circumstance, Ange AFIJMBOM and her comrade, introduced by Mrs. Priscilla SONG, National Coordinator of the NGO LANEC, valiantly pleaded for the use of solar energy devices, in particular solar cookers, and invited women to adopt this ecological, economical and lower health risk cooking method. This contributes greatly, they explained, to the reduction of greenhouse gases and therefore to the fight against climate change, in the front line of which Women and Girls are positioned. The speech of these conscious young girls leaders of the Environmental sector was well received by the assembly of Women, who reacted with loud applause. For several months, Ange AFUMBOM has been acting as an ambassador and spokesperson for the promotion of solar cooking devices in an African and Cameroonian context characterized by the search for solutions to the loss of Nature, the search for healthy, reliable and economical alternatives to fossil fuels such as gas, charcoal, oil, etc. This advocacy definitely comes where it needs to and in the right ears. Ange AFUMBOM and his comrade hope that approval will be followed by action.
