As of 1 March 2023, Rosemary Olive Mbone Enie assumed the leadership role for AfriShiners, a network of highly educated and specialized experts on solar cooking, solar food processing, clean cookstoves, clean burning fuels, water purification and waste management. Each member educates local groups and grassroots workers in his/her community. The organization has representatives from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Rosemary is also CEO of Salama Heritage Ecovillage (SHE) Africa based in Kigali, Rwanda.
Since 1991, Rosemary Olive Mbone Enie, a Pan Africanist, Geologist, Environmentalist, Eco-community Builder and Gender/Childhood Ambassador, has been actively involved in African Water, Sanitation, Hygiene, Environmental Education and Management projects. She has initiated several Pan African projects such as the Pan African Eco-communities Network (PEN), Pan African Vision for the Environment (PAVE) Nigeria, Pan African Climate Education (PACE) Centre, Ghana, First Ladies Action of Climate Change (FLACC) Africa, Green Schools Campaign, Tanzania, Tunza Afrika Program (TAP) etc. Ms Mbone Enie has 27 years’ experience, working on Gender and Development issues across African communities. In March 2014, the European Union (EU) under the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP), nominated her as an exceptional woman representing Africa.
She has been following the International Climate Negotiations for the past 23 years, participating in the Poznan 2008, Copenhagen 2009 and Durban 2011 Climate Summit. Her main interest is working with the Most Vulnerable Groups (MVGs) such as women, youths, children, the elderly and people with disabilities (PWD). Her specific interest is to promote green economic development, ethical and fair trade, working with African women, youths and children as agents of change to promote sustainable livelihoods, sustainable development and resilient community building across the African continent, for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Africa Agenda 2063.

- February 2023: Rosemary has reported the organization is currently looking for property to purchase near Kigali in Rwanda to establish an AfriShiners East Africa Centre. This should make it easier to conduct trainings and other AfriShiners activities.
