The SOLA Solar Cooker 1 has been designed by Prof. BK Chakravarthy living in Bombay, India. It was envisioned to be a window-mounted solar cooker, that can also be used as a freestanding cooker. Development was a team effort with graduate students from the Innovation Design Centre at IIT Bombay. The cooker can slide into a window opening, or be placed on a stand in an open doorway, allowing the cooking chamber to extend into the sunlight, while the cook remains indoors.
