The SOURCE drinking water system pulls water vapor from the air and uses sunlight to convert it to a pure liquid state, then mineralizes it for health and taste. It’s safely stored until you dispense it.
Conceived and implemented by a team of scientists, engineers, and change-makers, SOURCE is a company that has developed a 'Hydropanel' to extract water from the air. Pure water vapor is captured and collected using thermal solar energy. The method can be applied at a single family residential level, or scaled up to supply water to schools, worksites, and communities.
SOURCE Hydropanel technology incorporates multiple patented inventions that uses the power of the sun to produce pure water that is then mineralized for ideal pH and TDS, resulting in safe, premium quality drinking water. Hydropanel is like a solar photovoltaic panel, but instead of creating electricity, it instead makes clean, safe drinking water without electric hookups or infrastructure, nearly anywhere in the world. It is reported capable of producing up to 5 liters (1.3 gal.) of water per day
How it works[]
- The sun powers fans that pull air into a hygroscopic material which captures water vapor
- Solar power causes the materials to release the captured vapor in a concentrated air stream
- A smart controller ensures that the dew point inside the panel is above the ambient temperature causing passive condensation of pure water
- The pure water is ozonated, guaranteeing sterility, and mineralized for health and taste
- Water is plumbed directly into your home, office, or standalone dispenser
