The SUNWINGS evacuated tube solar cooker has been developed by Simplified Technologies for Life in Jalna, India.
This style of solar cooker has been shown to be quite efficient, though in the past limited by the size of available blown glass evacuated glass tubes. They retain heat well in cloudy conditions, and the manufacturer reports the cooker also incorporates a heat storage feature to allow the cooker to warm up in the afternoon, and then release the heat later in the day for evening cooking.
The size of the cooker is 100 cm (39.4 in) x 45 cm (17.7 in) x 50 cm (19.7 in), and weighs 15 kg (33 lbs). It comes with three cooking pans. It uses the largest diameter glass tube currently available, with 3 liters (0.8 gal.) cooking capacity.
