The Solar Tent dryer/cooker was designed by Amir Mahdi Komarizade of Iran.
The Solar Tent is a new kind of multipurpose portable solar energy device that was registered as an invention by A.M. Komarizade and K. Hatefi in Iran. It was designed especially as a solar dryer. One can dry vegetables and color-sensitive fruits on the top tray of the tent. The temperature will reach up to 65°C in autumn in Tehran. It also uses a solar fan for better drying and some ultraviolet LEDs for killing bacteria under the shade of the top tray. The Solar tent can also be uses as a solar cooker by simply closing the entrance- and output air doors.
