With the rise of homelessness in the US recently, new efforts are being taken there to design the simplest, cheapest, appropriate solar cooker(s) for use by the homeless. The recent 60 Minutes piece about the homeless tent camps around Sacramento, California (home of Solar Cookers International) has especially hit home.
So far, these are the models that seem the most appropriate:
